One of the things that annoys me the most about XKCD is how the writer of it constantly belittles “postmodernism,” history, and literary theory because it is “incomprehensible” and gibberish. Evidently, since he  can’t understand it, it must be garbage and useless. This is a larger thing that really annoys me about some parts of the science community. There is an attitude I encounter a lot from my physics/math/biology friends that because they can do advanced math and physics, if they can’t understand it, it must be wrong. The condescension they radiate when I talk about my research pisses me off to no end.
