All forms of Christianity, no matter how “accepting” and “liberal”, are wicked because they are based on demonstrable falsehoods that are taught to children. I take liberal Christianity even less seriously than denominations that take a “literal and inerrant” view of the bible because “liberal” Christianity has the arrogance to ignore the parts of their foundational texts which it finds to be unsavory. How dare you tell me that your church doesn’t condemn people to hell for not being straight and cis after I have spent my entire life trying to get over the terror and anxiety of the Christian hell that was so DEEPLY instilled in me by your holy texts. How dare you arrogantly claim that the bible is the word of god while simultaneously choosing to ignore the bits that you don’t like. How dare you support the framework of an institution that is directly responsible for the deaths of countless queer people and defend your faith by saying “we aren’t all like that.” Your foundational text IS like that. Abandon this barbaric, ancient text or I will continue to refuse to take seriously your sniveling attempts to redeem yourself to me. If you are queer and you support Christianity in any form, then I want nothing to do with you. Go cry in a corner because “queer people are mean to you.” I don’t fucking care. You have no idea what cruelty really is until you’ve seen a terrified and inconsolable child like me come crying to their mother every single night until they were in their late teens because they didn’t want to end up in hell. How dare you try to justify your faith to me. How dare you even speak about Christianity to me. How dare you.

so, religious liberals and progressives are worse than religious conservatives?

this is a politically foolish idea. some people believe in things that can’t be scientifically proven, and some of those people are fucking monsters. but most are not.
